Brad A. Evans, CFA has over 15 years of industry experience and is currently a Portfolio Manager on the Value Plus and Value Funds. Brad currently serves as Heartland's Director of Equity research, a position he has held since 2011.
He initially joined Heartland in 1996 as a Research Associate and was later promoted to Equity Research Analyst focusing on, among other sectors, Energy and Materials. Following a three-year term with High Rock Capital as a Research Analyst, he returned to Heartland in 2004 as a Portfolio Manager of the Heartland Value Fund. In May 2006, he became a Portfolio Manager of the Heartland Value Plus Fund.
As an advocate for small-cap value investing, Brad has been frequently interviewed by the national financial media, such as Barron’s, Bloomberg, BusinessWeek and The Wall Street Journal. He was among the money managers with "gold-standard track records" in CNNMoney.com's May 27, 2010 article, "25 stock picks from 25 great investors." In 2010, Brad also appeared on CNBC as an "All-Star Investor" discussing small-cap dividend-paying stocks.
Brad graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a B.A. in International Relations, Russian, and Political Science. Brad is a CFA charterholder.
